Unauthorized Dumping of Yard Waste on Tumalo Irrigation District Property
Tumalo Irrigation District would like to remind all patrons, property owners, renters, and contractors that dumping yard debris, grass clippings, pine needles, brush, or any other material on TID property is strictly prohibited.
Recently, unauthorized dumping of yard waste on District property resulted in a fire that required a response from TID, Bend Fire & Rescue, and other emergency personnel. Fortunately, the fire was contained before it spread further, but it serves as an important reminder that yard debris can create a serious wildfire hazard, particularly during periods of hot, dry, and windy conditions.
District rights-of-way, easements, gravel pits, and other properties are not approved disposal sites for yard waste or landscaping debris. Unauthorized dumping creates fire hazards, increases maintenance costs, and can interfere with District operations.
If you are a property owner, please ensure that your renters, landscaping companies, and contractors are aware of this policy.
Tumalo Irrigation District appreciates everyone's cooperation in helping protect our employees, neighboring properties, and the community from unnecessary wildfire risks. If you witness unauthorized dumping on District property, please contact the TID office as soon as possible.
Together, we can help keep our community safe and protect the TID's property.
